Home at Last, but Still Baffled
Uncategorized December 4th, 2008First, a huge thank you to everyone who posted a comment here or on my Facebook page with wishes and thoughts for me while I was in hospital.
I plan to write a post about the whole thing, but for now I can report that I’m back home, my heart is fine (my lungs, too), and I got the biggest hug ever from my dad (who never hugs me). The thing is, we still don’t know what the hell happened last Saturday afternoon. Out of nowhere I suddenly felt a squeezing, dull ache in my chest, and it hurt when I breathed in, and had a lot of trouble taking deep breaths at all. We’ll be taking this up with my GP probably this next week. I also have to see my cardiologist (ye gods, I have a cardiologist now) in a month’s time.
Right now, I’m fine. No pain, nothing. It’s weird.

Take care of yourself, Adrian. You know, exercise and green veg and all that boring stuff. You’ve got people waiting out here for more books!

I’m glad you’re okay! *hugs*

Glad to hear all is well. Get plenty of rest and then write us another novel. I’ve almost finished the last one.

Adrian! Thank goodness you’re okay. Sheesh, I’m away from the Internet for a little while and look what happens. Huge man-hug from Canada for you, old bean. And a big one for you, Michelle, you must have been going out of your mind with worry.
Charlie, having just experienced the full gamut of shock, worry and relief in less than a minute….

Oh dear! I’m so sorry to hear about your emergency, Adrian! I sure hope all the tests stay negative.
I stopped by today to congratulate you on your Aurealis nomination. Well done, good sir!! Happy holiday to you and Michelle!
Cheers!

Goodness gracious, that Aurealis nomination makes it four for four, doesn’t it? Congrats, Adrian!

Best wishes! And congrats on your new nomination for the Aurealis.

I hope they gave you the blood test to check for the protein (or was than an enzyme) that the body throws off when it’s a heart attack.
Cardiologist? I hope they go for doing a cardiac catherization. Clogged arteries are nothing to fool around with. As the saying goes, You’re Never Too Young To Need A Frikkin Bypass.
I hope in your case it was all in your head — like a holiday anxiety attack or something. Better that than arteries!
Good luck! Keep us posted.

A plethora of well-wishings upon your miscellaneous antipodean body parts, mate. Here’s hoping that all remains healthy in Bedfordia.

I see on the interwebs that young Adrian’s TMRWUW has been nominated for the P.K. Dick award! A very hearty congratulations old bean and the very best of luck to you. For some awards it really is an honour to simply be nominated, and the PKD is one of them I believe. The sky’s the limit from here!

Congrats on the PKD nomination!

Wow, the PKD! Congrats again, Adrian! (has to be that skinny assistant character that sets the book apart)
And happy birthday wishes to you, Michelle. It is this Friday, isn’t it?

And now TMRWUW scores an Aurealis award for best novel! Congratulations old bean, I hope you’re building a nice strong shelf to hold ‘em all.
